About the Journal

'PRATNAKIRTI' is a half-yearly Peer-reviewed research journal of this Institute. This journal is published on-line as well as in print. While this journal is dedicated to obtain the aims of the Institute i.e. प्रत्नकीर्तिमपावृणु as well as विश्वबन्धुत्वविस्तारकं संस्कृतम् thus all the works related to Indology or Indic Studies are kindly accepted here. Pratnakiriti welcomes all highly researched works, concerned with:

1.   Unknown and rare Sanskrit texts, their manuscripts.

2.   Ancient sources of Sanskrit such as inscriptions, rock inscriptions, footprints, inscribed bricks, copper plates, grant charters, land deeds, numismatics, coins, sculptures, etc. Information obtained from these ancient sources. Categorized study of the information, such as historical, archaeological, religious, philosophical, literary, social, artistic, etc. Conclusions drawn from the study. Possible growth, state, and direction of the Indian knowledge.

3.    Unexplored, un-discussed, and neglected aspects and facts of known and unknown Sanskrit texts.

4.   Study of the services and contributions made by scholars, writers, or independent individuals belonging to other communities and countries in the field of Sanskrit language literature and culture. Biography of such non-Indian and non-native Sanskrit enthusiasts. Introduction, achievements, and evaluation of their works related to Sanskrit.

5.    History, techniques, possibilities, situation and trends of Sanskrit journalism.

6.    Sanskrit grammar and comparative linguistics.

7.    Sanskrit and computational linguistics

8.    Sanskrit and comparative literature.

9.    Forgotten poets, authors, literary figures, poetic theorists, scholars, historians, and independent researchers in Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Hindi and other Indian languages. Their works and contributions.

10.  Mutual exchange between global knowledge and Sanskrit literature.

11.  Literary works of Indian and foreign languages/dialects translated into Sanskrit. Introduction of the translated work. Its evaluation or criticism based on translation theories.

15.  Contemporary Sanskrit literature (1947-present) - trends, innovations, experiments, and new styles. Introduction, evaluation, review, critique, commentary, annotations, debates, interviews, etc.

16.  Reassessment and critical articles on the research material published in the "Pratnakirti" journal covering all the aforementioned topics and fields.

17.  Introduction, critique, and reviews of contemporary research/books/articles on all the aforementioned topics.

18.  Introduction, evaluation, review and critique of published poetic works in modern Sanskrit literature.

Note:

Only scholarly articles written in Sanskrit, Hindi, and English languages, pertaining to the aforesaid subjects and there areas, will be published in Pratnakirti. The authors should ensure before submitting their research papers that the articles are written exclusively in the mentioned subject areas. Otherwise, such articles will not be considered for review or correspondence.
